Grandaddy's 90th Birthday!

The weekend of October 17th we traveled to Tennessee for my Grandaddy's 90th birthday.
(E & H's Great Grandfather :) We stayed with Aunt Judy and Uncle Donnie. We were able to show the kiddos their farm. It was a beautiful day. They enjoyed walking through the fields and petting the horses. Hudson was even brave enough to get on the horse's back. He loved it! Gram would be so proud...she wants one of them to ride horses. We tried to put Emmy on but she wasn't having any of it!

That night, we went to Grandaddy's party. The party was a lot of fun with great food. It was so nice to get together with all of our Tennessee relatives. The party was held at a conference center that also had a gym so all of the kids were able to play after they had eaten...really nice to release all of that energy! Hudson and Emmy enjoyed walking around and watching all of the big kids play.

Trip to Pennsylvania

Steve and I talked about taking a trip to Pennsylvania to visit his relatives when the babies were born. We knew that we wanted to wait until Emmy & Hudson were older and the weather was cooler. We planned to visit his side of the family including his grandmother, Margaret who was 93 years old(whom Emmy is named after). His Grandmother was so excited to meet Hudson and Emmy.

Unfortunately she passed away the Monday before we were to visit, so instead of a happy visit we came for her funeral. She lived a long and happy life. She was a strong, deeply religious and kind lady and she will be missed.
Despite the circumstances, we were able to visit and spend some time with the rest of the family. Thanks to Uncle Joe & Aunt Julianne for allowing us to stay with them during our visit. We enjoyed getting together with everyone. Here are a few pictures from our trip.

Emmy is Walking!

Oh no...look out! Both kiddos are walking now. Emmy took her first steps at the end of September and is so proud of herself. She holds out her hands to keep her balance and is so careful as she steps. Much different than Hudson did as he began to walk. She still loves to push around her baby stroller. She is such a cutie! We are so proud of her.

A Much Needed Girl's Weekend

The first weekend in October, I went to Greenville to get together with my college roommates; Wendy, Lindsey and Betsy. Although I missed Hudson and Emmy it was fun to reconnect with the girls. We visited our college campus, Furman and took some pictures in the rose garden. We stayed up late both nights just telling funny college stories. We also had spa treatments which were so relaxing and lunch outside at one of the new restaurants downtown. The new park in Greenville is so nice. It was the perfect day to walk and shop downtown. We also decided to make it an annual event each year and try to meet in a different city for each get together. Can't wait to get together next year!

Beth & Thad in town!

My sister, Beth and her boyfriend, Thad came to visit this weekend. They both are in college and it was nice that they were able to come and visit the kiddos. Emmy & Hudson were so excited to see them!

On Saturday, we went to a Corn Maze and had lots of fun. The kids enjoyed playing in the corn box and riding the John Deere tractors around the race track. I think Emmy might become a little farm girl, she loved the tractor.

Hudson's highlight of the visit was watching football with Thad (He actually stayed still and sat in Thad's lap for about 20 minutes!) Hudson also enjoyed trying on Thad's cowboy boots. Sunday morning, he left Thad a treat. He put cheerios in his boots. Silly boy!

Our Sweet Girl, Emmy

Emmy is getting quite a little personality. She is able to cruise along the furniture and stand up for a few seconds. We just got her a baby stroller and she pushes it around all over the house. It is so cute! I think it is really helping her build the confidence to walk on her own. She also loves to wear her shoes on her hands and crawl around. It is hilarious! We call them her "shoe hands" and she laughs and continues to crawl around with them. She is such a cutie pie! Her are some recent pictures of her with her stroller.

Here I go!

Now I need to catch up with Hudson!

Hudson is Running!

Hudson took his first step on July 8th (my Mom's birthday) and he has been running ever since. He loves to be outside and cries every time we have to come in. If anyone in the house opens a door he runs for the door to see if he can come too! He's growing into such a toddler. He is a typical boy and loves to play in the dirt, pick up sticks, and throw balls to our dog, Sylis. He also loves the hose. He will play in it for hours if you let him. Another thing he loves to do is run toward our tomato plants, picks the cherry tomatoes, and pop them in his mouth. It's so funny! Here are some pictures of our sweet boy.
